Esther Pfeifle The funeral of Esther Pfeifle, Napoleon was held Friday, De-cember 11, 2015 at Salem United Methodist Church. Burial was at the North Dakota Veterans Cem-etery in Mandan. Esther was born February 11, 1921 in rural Logan County near Napoleon, the daughter of Adam and Christina (Wanner) Ober-lander. She grew up on the family farm northeast of Napoleon and received her elementary education in rural Cokato Township. She graduated from Napoleon High School in 1940. Following gradu-ation she worked at Lubenow Grocery Store in Fargo, returning to Napoleon and taught school in Cokato Township for 1 year. In 1943 she moved to Lansing, MI, working at Reo Motors factory as an inspector in the export packing department for 2 1A years. Esther married Edwin Pfeifle on December 1, 1945 following his return from WWII. They lived and farmed the Pfeifle farm one mile south of Napoleon. Esther died Monday, December 7,2015 at the Napoleon Care Cen-ter, Napoleon. She was 94 years old. Survivors include: one daughter, Judith (Judy) and Gary Mourhess of Bismarck, one son, Rodney and Lois Pfeifle of Rapid City, SD, three grandchildren - Scott (Kari) Mourhess of Lino Lakes, MM, Adrian (Eddie) Rodriguez of Atas-cadero, CA, and Ross Pfeifle (Ra-chel Hall) of Rapid City, SD; three great grandchildren - Gage and Graycen Mourhess, Lino Lakes, MN and Eddie Ross Rodriguez, Atascadero, CA; three step great grandchildren in California - Ali-yah, Lisa, and Jakai; sister, Helen Burleson, Jamestown, brothers, Eddie (Dorothy) Oberlander, Moorhead, MN, Larry Oberlander (Cathy Renn), Penn Valley, CA, sister-in-law - Anna Oberlander, Jamestown, numerous nieces and nephews and their families. Preceding her in death were her husband, Edwin in 1998, her par-ents, three sisters - Mary Haid Emma Bellon, Frieda Carstensen' and four brothers - Theo, Alvin Otto and Walter Oberlander.
