Alex James Heidrich, 29, of New Salem Alex James Heidrich, 29, New Salem died on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, in Bismarck. Alex was born in Linton on Sept. 7, 1986, to Anton Heidrich and Cynthia (Mik-kelsen) Heidrich. He lived in Strasburg until 1991 whenhis family moved to Bismarck. Alex attended Pioneer El-ementary School and loved being a Cub Scout in Pack 1. In 1996, his family moved to their ranch in the New Salem/ Center area. Country living, a dog and some cattle made for some great times and adventures with his brothers, Andy and Cam. Alex graduated from Cen-ter High School with the class of 2005. He was involved in pretty much everything and some days could have used an extra few hours. He loved cars and had a license plate holder that said, "Drive it like you stole it"... and he did! He and his Grampa Bert shared a love of Louis L'Amoure books and history. Alex spent several sum-mers flagging at the Dacotah Speedway in Mandan. He volunteered on the Fire De-partments in Centetandlatet, Alex was an avid outdoors person. He enjoyed snow sports, water sports, hunt-ing, fishing, and especially motorcycling and camping with his family and a special i of "Sturgis Friends." Tracy was a wonderful friend andmentortoAlex and Alex Heidrich for the North Dakota Depart-ment of Transportation as an equipment operator and was currently working at Falkirk Mine at Underwood. Alex was baptized at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg, received his First Holy Communion at St. Anne's Church in Bismarck, and was confirmed at St. Pius Catholic Church in New Salem. On June 30, 2012, Alex married his high school sweetheart, Kristen Burgad, at St. Luke's Church in Wishek. He loved spend-ing time with his beautiful children, Bodie James, born . on-May 9, 2013 and Layken Rose, born on Dec. 29,2014. Alex will be sadly missed by Kristen, Bodie, and Layken: his parents, Tony and Cindy; brothers, Andy and his wife ShoShawna. Cam and his wife Kylie; nieces, Kinz-ley and Lettie; and nephew Tristan; his Grampa Bert and Gramma Babs Mikkelsen and Gramma AlicesHeidrich; aunts and uncles, Debbie and Ron Nelson, Jim and Leslie Jacky" Schulte; mother-in-law, Linda Burgad; sister-in- Law Meagan (Jason Gerber) Burgad; brother-in-law, Mi-chael Burgad; many cousins; and wonderful friends and his Golden Lab Bridger. Preceding Alex in death were an infant brother, An-ton; his grandfather, Anselm Heidrich; uncles. John Mik-kelsen and Arnie Heidrich; cousin Harris Heidrich; and his father-in-law RodBurgad. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, 2015, at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Strasburg, with the Rev. Ja-son Signalness and the Rev. Leonard Eckroth officiat-ing. Organist was Delores Wickenheiser. Song leader was Jolene Sil vernagel. Com-munion minister was Carrie Heidrich. Scripture reader was Jason Heidrich. Gift bearers were Grant Heidrich and Brandon Heidrich. Mass servers were Katie and Jordyn Heidrich. Music was "Be Not Afraid," "On Eagles' Wings," "Ave Maria," "You Are Mine" and "Seek Ye First." Pallbearers were Matt Knopik, Josh Brorby, Jon Kaatz, Blaine Jangula, Tracy Anderson, Cody Hilliary, Arnie Heidrich and Mike Wishek. Honorary pallbearers were -Mlk£Saa.r.reennoo......
